cassian has been investigating a series of earthquakes that he thought originated between a handful of cities in the europe area (amsterdam, oslo, and venice) but he has since discovered it was quite widespread over the globe. the mods linked his info dump post, which is already hideously long so i don't want to rehash/copypaste details and make this comment massive too lmao.
all of this stemmed from the fact that he has a cyberkinetic spine and started investigating 1) why he has it when all the displaced come in healed, presumably from the highly successful medi-units 2) who might have given it to him (which ties into who is bringing them here). this trajectory ended up relating to the earthquakes + city-wide power loss, and through his own theorizing cassian has tied it to their arrivals, suspecting the earthquakes are connected to the displaced in some capacity. he believes the reason for his fake spine is he was in a medi unit during a power loss, caused by an earthquake, disrupting the healing and requiring emergency surgery.
he is doing a lot of investigations into the corporations of this world, riverstone included along with vyonation, pulsar, and giles bell. technology, history, corporate influence etc. he's got a wide npc network to help with this and a few pcs are involved already!
honestly i've been a little stalled for a while on this and did not get too many new leads when i posted back in december, so i welcome any or all thoughts or interest as i work through my own next steps!
