Let's go for some Full Aftermath Whiplash because so far in their intros they've unexpectedly clicked but here it will be the opposite... Normally Amos is actively trying to be a good person but for his AU backstory a key element behind that is completely missing so here he just full on does not care.
Like he himself very easily could've ended up a Kestrel by circumstance, too. Does that make him sympathetic to Tewkesbury being a part of that group? Absolutely not. Tewkesbury could totally try to sway him though, with extremely limited success if any at all...
or mAYBE he only just barely gets through to him
so like, maybe he finds out he's a Kestrel and he's totally going to arrest him but something Tewkesbury says makes him pause, which would be very unexpected for him. not entirely sure how to process that! and that's how Tewkesbury can become connected to Homelander for some manipulation??
