APRIL 2.0/MAY CALENDAR
IMPORTANT OOC NOTES
◉ Our March/April Event Wrap Up is live! Most of the changes are subtler in their application, but will play out over the next few OOC months. Please feel free to ask any questions there!
◉ To reiterate a note from there, we won't be running any kind of event or prologue-event in May! This is to give our playerbase an opportunity to recharge their batteries, and for the moderators to do the same!
◉ Our new post for the Dreamscapes is now up! As it says on the post, this mechanic will offer an additional place for power ups, and will only be approved to be run during off event months!
WEATHER:
◉ NEW AMSTERDAM: Strong sun and humidity. Highs of 88, lows of 80 (F) during the day, 65 (F) at night
◉ NEW TOKYO: Gray skies and little visibility. Highs of 5, lows of -25 (F)
NOTABLE NEWS:
◉ Water rationing is still in effect in New Amsterdam, but will be lifted by the time characters return from New Tokyo.
◉ A new website tracking new urban legends around New Amsterdam goes up around October 12. This website tracks a series of hallucinations that citizens of New Amsterdam experience. The most vivid involves a fight between a lower level employee at City Hall and the Chairperson of the Economic and and Financial Affairs Council for New Amsterdam (Ignis Scientia and Ardyn Izunia). While both men have been spotted in New Tokyo as a part of the ongoing relief efforts, people insist that they've seen a vision of these two battling with unusual powers and leading to quite a bit of property damage.
◉ While the Displaced are in New Tokyo, contractors who work for Morningstar will come into New Amsterdam and begin to set up the two new safehouse locations for the Displaced. Both the underground portions of the garage and the bar will be set up and ready to go. Any further security will be up to the Displaced when they get back. Any changes to the businesses' faces will be up to the Displaced to determine and change for themselves.
◉ Since many of the high profile fighters for the fighting rings are off on relief efforts, the season's ending has been postponed until they're back.
◉ Governor Gill-Jade announces that despite her large number of donations and support, she won't be running for reelection in 2512.
◉ An online movement sprouts surrounding UNC2 (the Mars Colony). This movement is made up of two sides: the people who support the colonists and how they speak out against the corporations, as well as the people who believe them to be entitled "trolls." Propaganda supports the latter view most heavily, and people begin to see three times as many advertisements about the amazing new life they could have out in the colonies.
