event - pyramid LOG, info & plotting
Hey folks, we've gotten some cool info from the mods outlining what characters will find inside the pyramid and what kinds of tasks they'll be confronted with, so we wanted to boost a few things here!
First of all, we've set up a PYRAMID LOG POST that is 100% open. This is just to make the pyramid hooks accessible and help people interact with other characters at the location. We've also got a top level set up where you can link any pyramid info from the mods, making it easier to catch up and stay up to date on further juicy reveals.
Anybody's welcome to hop in on that post (whether you'd already made pyramid plans or not!), or you can use this post for OOC plotting or discussion based on the new info below. You can read the full response from the mods here, but I've also C&P'd it under the cut with context if you don't want to read the question thread.
What will characters find when they arrive?
If you're looking for ways to engage, here's a mod-approved list of task ideas based on this info:

The outside of the pyramid is metallic polymer that makes it somewhat reflective from a distance, but not so much that anyone's eyesight will be challenged as they fly in. Coming close, they'll be able to see the intricate structure of the pyramid, clearly designed as layers upon layers before the engine at the top.Is anything inside working?
Once they get inside, it's going to smell bad. The heat, combined with the dead bodies in the heart of the place, is making things messy. Anyone who's concerned with that may want to get rid of the dead. In Meadowlark's world, most bodies are taken care of via compost, but it's not like there's a composting system on this pyramid. They may just want to carefully haul them out and leave them somewhere for the time being.
The pyramid is 30 floors with one large engine room at the top with a lot of complicated mechanisms that aren't working the way they plan. Given the height of this engineering marvel, there are in fact elevators – though they will need to get these jumpstarted to make them workable! Someone is likely going to have to find whatever mechanism will bring up more power to make that happen. This mechanism is, sadly, located right at the tippy top of the pyramid, so if someone entered near the bottom ... it's time to get climbing. This mechanism will be enough to jumpstart the systems we refer to in C.
Each floor has a different set of stations on there for different projects, each related to scientific inquiry in some way. They also link down to the scientific stations out on the planet down below, generating information back and forth. None of these projects are relevant to the overall working of the pyramid, but people can try to get into them if they'd like. They're primarily focused on environmental issues, climate control, and their information is remote and locally located. It's only after it's sent out on the web that the information "saved" on this pyramid hits cyberspace.
Oh, and one more thing: the stations and living area are all located at the edges of the pyramid. If someone enters on the ground floor, they'll be able to see straight up to the top.
Emergency systems are going to keep it afloat, and to keep the purple lighting on that we described. As a major hint: shutting off these emergency systems would cause catastrophic consequences (down goes the pyramid-sized consequences), so it's likely better to not hit restart on anything. Is there a control center they can hack into to find schematics/get started on fixes?
Just outside of the heart of the area where everyone is dead is the command center. These are kept close to living quarters in the event of emergencies. This area is open, and someone will need to sync up with the pyramid's wifi (so to speak) and network to get in. Of course, this comes with the risk of introducing the virus into their personal neural implant or into the system itself from a different backdoor. Once that person is in, they'll be able to help others in.Is there anyone else alive in the pyramid?
But that person may be suffering from blurred vision and a need to take a nap. Too bad the living quarters are full of dead people! This is due to their neural implant uncharacteristically overloading. It won't stop working, but it's like those rare moments when your new laptop is overheating because it's just that hot outside. (NOTE: check out this comment if you're interested in getting on this, we'll be picking via RNG).
Otherwise, they can use this system to access schematics for how to help. They will come across a frequently repeating secret of numbers: 1.618033988749895 that may take over their schematics, forcing its way in. Whoever does the hacking may see this sequence, combined with the Φ symbol blinking before it.
Right now: no. The small handful of engineers are all dead. Occasionally, the NAPD will try to find engineers and scientists in the city who can help out. It is very possible for the characters to act as if they're engineers and scientists themselves, as it's not like anyone will be able to fact check them right now. The UNA may come in sparingly, but they typically don't make rounds this far outside of city walls, plus they're not exactly the chattiest bunch. If you guys would like to have engineers show up and work alongside your characters, feel free to NPC them! They would typically be from Vyonation or Pulsar, and wouldn't have any links to head honchos. These are good people who want to get the pyramid working.
If you're looking for ways to engage, here's a mod-approved list of task ideas based on this info:
- HAULING BODIES clear of working areas to help with the smell/sanitation.
- JUMP-STARTING ELEVATORS to get to the engine room and access different levels.
- INVESTIGATE RESEARCH on various projects, mostly environmental, housed in the pyramid.
- SYNC UP WITH THE WIFI and help others access the system. This is closed to one character, but sign-up is open to everyone (see RNG sign-up below).

HACKER VOICE: sign ups
They don't have to be tech savvy! If you can justify them trying to access the network or 'clicking around' in their brain, so to speak, you can sign up. We'll find IC ways to help them help everyone else log in and access the system.

I just shoved up this but if none of those prompts work for you I can either
i) write another! or
ii) hit up yours if you write one!!

I might backtag the event this month since the calendar's quieter, so lmk if you're game for a very late tag in or if you'd rather roll forward with something else in the future! but also thank you for the follow up on this either way, I do appreciate it.

I am so ready for Poe and John to meet
I just threw up this but if none of that works for you then I can write something additional OR if you are gonna do a top level tag yours!

ACCESSING THE WIFI/NETWORK
Abel would probably recognize the number sequence (Φ 1.618033988749895), but he wouldn't be able to connect it to anything outside of the related math. So if anyone wants to help with that, it'd be great! :D

NPC ENGINEERS
out the moon doordown the garbage chute, they need to know.Daenerys is going to be fairly vocal about wanting them to handle it themselves (because shes a suspicious ho), but will back down on the condition that they don’t follow Dany and Rey to do research.
