PLAYER PLOT: OPERATION LOST BOYS

Following the raids in September (OOC February), Morningstar became aware that the UNA had found a leak amongst their number and was using that to leverage information about the organization and use it to move against them. Morningstar agents among the Displaced began to use this information to investigate the leak, which eventually affirmed that the source of the leak was Morningstar agents captured during the June arrival and later during the September raids. The investigation went catastrophically wrong in the course of Operation Lost Boys, an effort to retrieve the captured agents, which started with the failed attempt to kidnap and interrogate a UNA soldier during Cassius' EMP.

On November 24th, Rey Nolo was black-bagged by the UNA government for suspected association with Morningstar. Their evidence is a series of incriminating videos on her CoolTalk, which have since been taken down, in which she contests the UN's version of events surrounding Morningstar's activities during the EMP. No one ever said she was smart. A group of PCs have plans to go break Rey out on November 28th, having deduced that she is being held at one of the research outposts.

They have also discovered compelling reason to believe that the other Morningstar agents, taken during the IC September Raids and during the IC June Arrival, are being held in the same facility. Daisy Johnson will be leaking the location of this outpost and the time of their departure via train car (much like this month's arrival log) so that ANY PCS WHO WANT TO PARTICIPATE can arrive at the train car to leave New Amsterdam for the research outpost and help save the other agents. Bear in mind that as they'll be leaving on November 28th, participation is also open to any new characters. (Note: This release will be hand-waved so there is no need to wait on an IC network post, but also note that it will make no mention of Rey to keep the groups participating in her rescue manageable in size; additional participants will be here specifically for the captured agents.)

The log will be posted on Friday and linked via Plurk and Discord by the mods.

OVERVIEW

• Anyone can participate in this event, whether they are Morningstar or not, whether they were around for the capture or not, whether they know Rey or not, etc.
  
  
• Daisy, Kylo, and Damian are mostly responsible for the IC organization of the operation, with major assistance from Prompto and Poe, and participation from Octavia, Riku, and Sora. This would be IC knowledge.
  
  
• The goal of this plot is to free the Morningstar agents who were captured during the UNA raids in September and the June arrival. It will involve fighting against UNA soldiers who have taken over the research outpost, an extremely dangerous task.
  
  
• There are multiple ways to engage with this plot, regardless of your character's combat ability:
  
  DISTRACTION: Some PCs (including Daenerys, Prompto, Riku, and Sora) will be trying to slow the UNA response to the assault on the outpost down through a more neutral distraction, and other PCs are more than capable of adopting the same approach.
  
  INFILTRATION: PCs who intend to infiltrate and liberate the agents themselves (including Kylo Ren, Octavia, and Damian) will be starting out with a stealth approach as possible, then turning more to all-out fighting when that fails.
  
  
• Rather than returning directly to New Amsterdam, PCs and rescued agents will be spending the night at a safehouse in New Prague to let the heat die down. There, they will stay in a Morningstar safehouse overnight before they are set up on a train back to New Amsterdam. They will arrive back in New Amsterdam late on November 29th.

SPECIFICS

• All participants will be outfitted with scrambler masks from El. It is strongly discouraged that anyone forego a scrambler mask, as being seen in the outpost would necessitate their ID being wiped. There will be consequences for any PCs whose identities are exposed that the mods will cover in the upcoming calendar; however, the mods do not want a lot of people to have to have their identities rewritten - so please avoid that outcome by using the ID scrambling masks. Please contact a mod if your character's face is seen by anyone in the outpost.
  
  
• Only UNA soldiers occupy the outpost. There will be no scientists inside the research outpost when they arrive. Anyone who comes into contact with a UNA soldier runs the risk of dying in the process, as they are especially highly trained, dangerous, and operating on their home turf! PCs who are killed can be removed from the outpost and revived in New Prague by Morningstar.
  
  
• The rescued agents are found in terrible shape. They have gone through extreme interrogation, most recently about the blue technology. As a result, most are catatonic, seemingly unaware of who they are or where they are, and some will react negatively and violently toward anyone who displays the blue glow in front of them. They've been conditioned to respond that way.
  
  
• Transportation to New Prague is already accounted for! A UNA vehicle will be hijacked by Poe Dameron to take the agents and PCs out of the research outpost and get them safely to New Prague. It can fit everyone, don't worry.
  
  
• The Morningstar agents in New Prague will hold the PCs in a safehouse kept beneath a convenience store. PCs who were not are all quite impressed that the agents were able to be saved at all—previously, NPC Morningstar cells had believed rescue to be impossible.
  
  
• These agents in New Prague also don't know about El's real identity as Elysian/Lucifer. In offering zeir assistance, El will remind everyone to keep this under wraps because it might compromise Morningstar as a whole. El is more concerned with helping the world, and knows that many people may not get the AI thing. This is not to say that people can't go against El's wishes. They can! But you should talk to the mods about it if so.
  
  
• Anyone who kept their scrambler mask on during the infiltration of the outpost is allowed to leave the safehouse and explore New Prague.
  
  
• The train back to New Amsterdam will not stop to let the PCs off; they will need to devise their own means in the absence of a formal stop. Once they're outside the city, Morningstar agents who returned with them from New Prague can bring them back in through the opening Cassius used for the arrival log.

Rey is ... at the outpost. Surprise.

And she's in really awful shape tbh! She has been drugged up, sleep-deprived, injected with weird stuff in her chest, and generally interrogated. Kylo Ren will be carrying her out of the facility, which is good news for the UNA because it means less murder.

She'll be holding off on an update of what information she got from their interrogation attempts until she makes a network post. However, importantly, that network post won't come from Rey Nolo. For all intents and purposes, Rey Nolo no longer exists. Her accounts will be wiped, etc., and when she's back in New Amsterdam, so too will her implant. She'll come out of this with a new ID, starting from the ground up. Currently open to people checking in with her in New Prague (and so she can thank those who came to get her) and IC brainstorming of a new job/identity.

Following the return to New Amsterdam, Rey will continue to be inaccessible until December 7.

However, Rey can use her recently vastly upgraded powers to help get people off the train safely. Yay gravity! She can soften any falls when people leap from the train car on the way back to NA from NP because by then she'll be up and at 'em again.

KYLO

kylo ren has just returned form limbo and he's pissed about literally everything.

this being said, he's going to be rallying several of the pcs to hunt down and eventually rescue rey from one of the research outposts. finding rey and freeing her will be his focus, and while he'd like nothing more than to plough through as many una soldiers as he can in the process, he's going to be doing his best to avoid them because experience has shown that they are formidable and he has a girlfriend to rescue.

he'll be staying with rey once she's free, and while they set up her new id. i need to double-check with the mods on what the situation re: communication will be but if needs be he'll play go between for messages, and possibly do food runs etc.

SNIPER

Thank you for organizing, this is great!!

I don't have any concrete plans for Sniper, beyond a dramatic power upgrade moment. Their new power will put them on more even footing with the UNA soldiers, but they're still getting decently fucked up. Most likely they'll be with the infiltration team.

I'm open to anything! Being rescued, doing rescuing, doing things not technically within the scope of the mission. Sniper is going to want someone who heals when everyone gets back to New Prague cause they ain't got time for injuries.

jon will want to join the distraction group in case there's trouble. he will offer to open a vein if necessary!!! a lot of blood will get people's attention very quickly..........

he's not really a match for una soldiers without a sword and idk if he'd be able to sneak his in! he will probably rush to join the melee when the alarm sounds. thanks to his powers he will not die or be incapacitated but he might get some bullets stuck in him??

he will be very stressed out and closed off leading up to the rescue. after this he will take the conflict with una much more personally. he will probably spend a day or two in new prague to make sure rey and everyone else is ok. he knows basic first aid and how to put an iv in!!! he can also help coordinate triage ig

illya's really down to do whatever's needed because he does like getting to fight the una for personal reasons. that said, rey's his friend and he'd agree to go, despite the danger, because of that.

his ability makes him able to match up fairly evenly with a una soldier so he'll be the kool aid man all over the place for them.

i'm not gonna go for futzing with his id but he might come away a bit banged up because fighting his thing.
