MAY 2020 CALENDAR
IMPORTANT OOC NOTES
◉ Our Activity Check for April is up! Keep in mind that requirements are halved. We'll also reach out to anyone who forgets to reply to AC.
◈ If you feel you need to take a strike, we will be retroactively counting you as on hiatus for the month of April. However, you won't be able to take this waived requirement in May if you take it in April.
◉ For the foreseeable future, we'll be keeping the halved AC requirements. We'll keep this updated on the calendars going forward. To remind you, this means that new players will only need to provide at least five comments across four threads, while older players will only need to provide 10 comments across four threads. Players with strikes will need to provide 20 comments across four-five (4-5) threads. Please let us know if you have any questions about this!
◈ If we're reverting back to full AC, we will inform you the month before. For example, if you're expected to give full AC in July (for the AC that is posted on August 1, 2020), you'll be informed on the June calendar that this will be the case. We don't want anyone caught off-guard.
◈ The strike system outlined above will remain the same. You can say "strike me," and be counted as if you were on hiatus. It means you'll have to provide AC for the next month.
◉ Our Test Drive Meme posted for April will be our last Test Drive Meme until we drop below 50 players. This is in part because we are planning for there to be a queue, as there are only 4 available slots for new players.
◉ Along those same lines, we're planning for a queue, and will be moving toward individual acceptances for new, incoming players as spots open up in the game. This is going to involve some trial and error on our parts. We're planning on opening applications to current players while the queue is full, but—again—this will be a lot of trial and error on our parts. We'll be playing with what does and doesn't work as we move forward.
◉ We're aware that we missed posting the HMD this month, and have ultimately decided that it would be best to take a break from these until things settle down around the world. During this time, if you have any feedback for the mods, always feel free to come to our mod contact page. Our doors are always open for player feedback!
◉ Our next event will be going live on May 2nd. Our write up for this event is here, and please feel free to use that post to plot anything out or ask us questions. We encourage you to do any plot headers for your characters, as well! There are a few up there already to check out! We want to ensure that players are coming up with solutions together, and this post will continue to be the best place for that purpose.
◉ Our plan for the event is to put up two separate logs: one for the simulation and one for the outside world.
◉ We won't be including any notable news on this calendar because all of New Amsterdam is trapped inside of the simulation! Any news from the outside world will be covered in the "outside world" log.
◉ For our incoming players, we will be posting a short log for our players outside of the simulation to come and retrieve them. Since they'll be launched immediately into the event, circumstances will be a bit different for them!
◉ As mentioned on our Event Planning Post, we're projecting June 6, 2020 as the date for the aftermath log. We'll be looking into things as we get closer to the date to see if this event needs to be extended.
◉ We'll be adding new sections to the CR meme to facilitate event planning once the ball gets rolling!
