> EVENT #002 WRAP UP

By midday on July 30th, reports of the mass chaos throughout New Amsterdam begin to die down. Several of the formerly affected have issued statements to the NAPD insisting that they don't know what caused their behavior, only that they felt incredibly angry and that they were in the right. Meanwhile, the uncured have been taken into medical care, where they can be monitored and contained, for their own safety and that of others. Many of them have moments of clarity, but they pass. Any information on these people is scarce, and names are not released to the press to prevent any further distress being brought to these people or their families.

As the day draws to a close, news reports begin to speak about a seeming correlation between many of the affected - that they were all involved in the scene of the fire at 41st Street, either as residents of the building or one of the emergency services on the scene. Though it's not understood how this could have caused such behavior, the common factor is too glaring to be ignored.

In hope of finding out why this happened, Chief of Police Shanna Mikhailov has assigned a special task force to work with the fire department to discern whether there are any clues on the scene. While the building was already under investigation regarding the fire itself, they're now concerned as to whether or not it was the site of a possibly larger attack on New Amsterdam's citizens.

◉ Over 40 people are reported dead as a result of the violence sweeping the city, with more injured. Governor Gill-Jade holds another press conference, pleading with the city to hold strong and work together to overcome this difficult time.

◉ In hopes of finding more information, the Governor and the Chief of Police also ask that anyone who suffered from the aggressive behavior but recovered during the event come forward so that they can leave a statement and undergo a series of tests. These tests can be performed by any New Amsterdam walk-in clinic or hospital.

◉ It is also not understood how many of the affected recovered, and this will be part of the area of interest in the investigation, especially in the hopes that they can duplicate the effects on those still suffering. Social media theories run rampant, and in amongst the speculation and arguments, anonymous statements and interviews begin to emerge speaking about being cured. They feature common elements: they were in physical contact with someone, and they were in pain until they felt a strange period of serenity, and then a deep sadness. Some of these interviews come with blurry videos from a distance showing individuals reaching out and curing someone, with a strange, glowing blue light emanating from them.

◉ A number of news outlets try to determine if this attack was the result of a new drug that's surfaced, but not yet identified. Others, along with many news blogs, contest this theory as there are reports of many groups involved in the illegal drug trade also being heavily affected by the attacks. Some gambling dens - dive bars on the surface, and reported as such - were overrun and attacked as a result of debts and past grudges. It seems that no one was left untouched by the widespread effect of what happened.

> THE SAFEHOUSE

Following everything, Gaby will ask that everyone in the safehouse undergo an inspection and also touch one another to prove that they aren't infected. She didn't see any of the curing first hand, but learns about it through the grapevine - more specifically, El caught it on a security camera and gives her the head's up so that she can do her hands-on job with the safehouse occupants.

Otherwise, Gaby and El will thank everyone for doing their best by going out there and curing people. Gaby won't know how they pulled it off, but she's seen enough handholding and weird glowing blue chests by now to know that something strange is going on, and will be eager to help people get their answers. She'll suggest that they work with Morningstar contacts to try to get more information on the people in the apartment building, to see if it was linked to the nurse's death.

There are a lot of things left undiscovered as a result of the last two events, and we'd love to help you dig into it! Please head over to our plot engagement post to get started on getting into what's available. Once more characters are established, we hope to help provide insight and paths to more information in game.

In addition, we'd also like to ask that everyone please use the OOC event post for plotting for future events. We want these posts to be a communal space to discuss the initial stages of a plot, and even brainstorm and see if anyone can come up with something to work together! While we understand Plurk can be a more convenient place for fast plotting, it is much more helpful to us if we can see what you're up to, as well as allow for more collaboration between a wider spread of players.
